Filling a couple books for the kids and found this interesting dime coming out of a mint set... point being, no way is it post mint damage.
I've never seen this before and am curious if anyone in the forum has and knows it's source, or likely source.

Check out the rims on the obverse and reverse... the points of interest are on the rims.

Wrong. Think of the word 'mint' as a verb, and not a noun. Post Mint Damage (PMD) refers to damage occurring to the coin after it has been minted. Errors that occur in the striking chamber, either prior to as a planchet flaw or during the act of minting a coin are striking errors.

That said, it is still a neat item. But, the only perceived value in this coin would be if it was still sealed in the mint set, otherwise it is PMD and could be easily reproduced with an industrial heat sealer.

I also like to use Post Strike Damage instead.
