G'day all..... was wondering if anyone could tell me where "dealers" get their bags of quarters (loose not rolled) in bags described as being sealed at the mint. Do they buy them from banks or directly from the mint. I checked out the U.S. Mint site and have never seen bags for sale.
    All responses will be appreciated.

The mint sells quarter bags in 100 coin and 1000 coin bags.

Most dealers get the majority of their state quarters from the armored car companies. Buying from the mint is fine, but the premium just isn't worth it. Mint wrapped rolls fall under this same catagory.

How does one purchase from an armored car company? Do you need to be a dealer?

Dealing with an amored car company isn't very easy, as their job certainly has many limitations when dealing with the public. Also, you must buy in some form of making it worth their while. I would suggest that you call some in your area and ask. If that doesn't work for you, make a friend at one of the local stores in the area that uses their services. Offer to add a little to the price as way of a thank you. Coin gifts make an excellent way to make friends. You would be surprised at how far a worn Indian Cent, or Buffalo nickel will get you.

ND, where do you find most of your registry-set quality circulation strike State Quarters --- from the "armored car" rolls or from mint sets??

To find registry set quality, the only option is mint and proof sets. Very few sets will contain a single coin that hits the mega grades, and the search is daunting.
