    1881-O MORGAN $1 MS64+ SHOT MS65 RB

    I bought a Mexican coin once which was described as:
    "Looks like someone shot it with a shotgun"

    Rb?

    Lets see.. MS64+ RB. Is the new designation a Red-Brown morgan, or a Real Bad auction. A BIN of $295.00 for a $20.00 coin... thats not to bad. Also buyer ID kept private.....Good thing, if I bought it I wouldn't want anybody to know!!:thumb: ;)

    You youngsters just do not have any tastes(at least when it comes to females) - just wait in 30 or 40 years you will hope to have her smile at you. By the way happy belated birthday. :)

    I have seen dealers stack coins like that - mainly because they worth nothing but bullion. When Gumers sold coins here locally I walked in and ask if he had a proof 1994 1/10 oz AE. He grabbed a tray from behind the counter and dumped about about 100 uncirculated coins into the tray and said see if you can find what you want in there. Needless to say I never went back.

    I'll leave that topie alone since its really not about coins....

    As for the dealer---Yep--I would leave him too.
    My dealer once had a guy come in a a 10 gal. bucket of junk silver half dollars----he just sold them out of the bucket till it was light enough to move it :D

    Shawna = Good deal

    Coin = Not so good

    A lot of people make offers for Bluemooncoins. BIN of $1000 and someone offered $90, they accepted. Basically trying to sucker someone into buying at a very high price. They'll accept reasonable offers.

    I forgot to add this---
    I once saw that a seller was making a lot of sales and in his items if he was selling Morgan or Peace Dollars he would say FULL BIRD--if the outline of the eagle was full.
    I wrote him and asked where that came from---he gave some big tail about how its one of the oldest known sayings for this---and its just as big as FBL on Franklins and such----I pretty much wrote him back and told him I thought he was a rip off seller----I did some searching around on many forums/coin websites and look in alot of books and never have found where dealers used to use the term Full Bird when the outline is full

    BlueMoon is one of those eBay sellers that fall into the *don't buy there* categories. they've been on my non-bidding list for quite some time. Be careful!

    I think you should really read the World & Ancient Coin forums over at Collectors Universe.

    Yes on the surface they may seem a bit "off". But they do sell some very nice coins at very reasonable prices if you make an offer. Never use the BIN function with them. Lately there have been quite a few positive remarks about Bluemoon.

    Too bad they never have anything I like/can afford. Of course with any online dealer, do your research before bidding and always read the fine print. Make sure to ask about a refund/return policy.

    I'll take your word for it. Since I don't collect ancient/world coinage I'm not all that interested in reading that particular forum.

    Ah I see! I never see a thing mentioned about them in the U.S. Coin forum though. Not quite sure why...
