I wish I had the money right now, because if I did I would have gotten both of the SF commemorative golds. I find this coin far more interesting and beautiful than any other gold coin released in memory, except for the 1997 FDR G$5.. I really liked that one also.

I ordered the San Francisco proof $5, the San Francisco old mint silver proof, and the 20th anniv 3 piece silver set on the same day, Aug 31. I just checked my order status and it says 'in stock and reserved' on the $5 piece. So that means that I should be getting it soon?

When I placed my order, it said something about me going on the waiting list for the 20th anniv. 3 piece set. Today my order status says 'unit backordered. Expected to ship on 12/08/2006.' I guess that's good news for me as I should actually get to buy it.

I am surprised I haven't seen more chatter about the San Francisco commems. I think they are the best looking coins minted in a long time. I had to settle for the silver, But I thought it was great to bring back these timeless designs. I can't wait to get mine.:)

I have a gold proof on order too, same deal, in stock and reserved since sometime last week. No hurry on getting it, but I'll be glad when it comes.
