Has anyone bought coins or rolls from american precious metals exchange and if so what kind of service did you receive thanks ?
bullion purchases Howdy, I normally buy my silver eagles each year at Paul Sims. I realize that his reputation around here isn't great due to dipping coins. However, he's got a good price for eagles. I call his 800#, place my order and they're shipped direct. I've been very pleased. If I was looking at a metal exchange, it'd probably be Kitco.com. by the way, they are the very best site for accurate and timely spot quotes on the planet. They give live gold, silver, platinum, palladium, XAU, HUI, all the ratios, etc. Wonderful site and they also sell bullion. At least use them as a price quote. As for precious metals articles and reading, the best site is gold-eagle.com peace, rono
Bruce, I own several one ounce silver bars and two one ounce Gold krugerrands as well as a quarter ounce American Gold Eagle that came from this firm. Also several one ounce Silver Maple Leaf coins. I purchased it all from a friend who initially bought the whole lot direct from American Precious Metals. I can say the quality is good. The Canadian Maple Leaf one ounce coins do have an occasional white spot on a couple coins. I think these "milk spots" are intrinsic on all Silver Maple Leafs no matter where you buy them. The thing that keeps me from buying direct myself is the shipping charges. I do better buying at coin shows and a few dealers, where there is no shipping cost.
I've purchased maple leafs from a variety of sources and never bought one with "milk spots" on it. I don't consider them to be "intrinsic on all Silver Maple Leafs."
APMEX is not far from my home. I can order online and pick up the items in person without incurring shipping fees. My experience with them has always been good. They have a very clean, modern store and stock just about any numismatic item you need. The staff is very friendly and helpful, too.
i made the mistake of buying from P. S. some 79 type two anthony proofs. they sent them in PVC flips six months later i discovered how to identify PVC flips when i checked the coins i found that they were almost Destroyed! took them to a dealer who dipped them removed the damage but left wipe markes on the surface and of course now there cleaned coins. will never buy another coin from them ever!!:hammer:
