I have received a few pm's from forum members wanting to pry this beauty out of my hands, but let me just say, I absolutely LOVE this coin! I'm sure all you collectors understand how a special coin can tug at your heart and make you feel giddy to have such a piece in your own collection - and that is what this coin does for me. The 1955/55 is my favorite Lincoln cent, and I am so fortunate to have found this little guy that fits so perfectly into my set!

Can't say I blame you - it's probably the most dramatic DDO in the history of DDOs. The color is superb.

I think its the definition of a "collector". All of us have coins that no matter what we will never part with. Off the top of my head some of mine are a Sassanid of Shapur the Great in FDC, an anonymous bronze in Xf that has gorgeous hard green patina, and an ugly Ostrogothic coin that is of great historical importance, (I won't bore you guys).

Very pretty cent PennyLady. I am always happy when a collector find "the coin" that they absolutely love. That is what its all about, no? :)

Definitely a beauty. I have seen a few 63's and 64's, but this one just pops a lovely brown. Great pickup.

Charmy, that is a fantastic coin! Does that mean your signature-line old 1955 DDO will be going up on your inventory for sale? ;)

    Love it! :thumb:

Now you need to get a 1958 DD to go with that one.

Very nice and if it is what I think it looks like, very difficult to photograph.

    Very nice coin, Charmy. Congrats!

Larry had a nice AU 63 at the show too. It was in an old PCI holder if memory serves, and he had had it for some time.

Reminded me a bit of your coin, but yours is a few points cleaner.

    Nice!

I was luck and got to see it in hand. Really special coin. The color and the luster are great. As good as Todd is, one image can't show how nice it really is.
