Sign me up!! I have zero collectable British Coins, but am interested in the 1600s and 1700s issues. Also like the "young head" Victorian issues. Just need to decide what I want to do -- maybe a type set of silver coins such as sixpences or shillings.

Another for sixpences! For a type set in those two centuries shillings would be easier, panic when you get to James II.

i agree on the yh victorian she did look kinda nice then ehhh, but what a battleaxe when she wore her hair in a bun.

i thought they would have made to coins bigger just to fit her in. :)

there definetly is something about sixpences they realy are special.there considered lucky.Im going to build a victorian set to begin with

I like the young head too, admittedly i like the bun head as found on the bronze. I've always like the Jubilee 1887-1893 as well.

The Gothic is my fave... she's very pretty on those.

As for the old head used from 1893 till her death, well yer can keep it.

Actually some of those aren't too far out... if you're on Coincraft prices.

Those are quality coins though and you can expect sometimes to pay more than book for cream of the crop coins... talking of which is that a 1731 sixpence!

I'm actually buying one of those right now but mines half the price of that one (actually alot less than half!), mind you it is in AEF and it has a rather obvious edge knock on the obverse plus a few bagmarks but hey it still looks like a nice coin and it's the only one i can come close to affording.

I remember you saying you were from near there, two streets away hey? I'm glad i don't live that close to a coin dealer cos i'd have some serious impulse buying issues...

I'd sell practically every coin in my collection (except a select few) if i could own that Gothic Crown they had, i just love the blue tone... :D

The one i'm buying looks more like this... (no doubt you will have come across it when you were searching along for those Vicky Sixers).

See how much an edge knock and a few bagmarks knocks off!

GD would indeed be happy with that Gothic crown. In fact - I even considered buying it when it was still available ;)
