With the sudden and unexpected sell out of the 2012 S-Mint ATB’s, will the 2013 S-Mints outpace the 2012 sales? I know I almost got left out of the 2012’s, as I thought I had plenty of time to order some, as the mint erroneously advertised each design would be available for one year. Expecting sales to increase over the next several months, I planned on waiting until the deadline approached to see what the sales were before ordering.
They might sell a little quicker because they are being released with the P&D rolls this year. El Yunque -S got a little bit of hype because of the sellout. To me, it doesn't seem like these coins have really caught on and I don't expect a dramatic pick up in interest in 2013 unless the 2012s rise in value (the second two rolls to sellout have generated much less interest so far). By the time any 2013 quarters get anywhere near a sellout we should have a better idea of how the 2012s are doing after the initial sellout shock wears off.
I agree . These qtrs are verry popular,Lots of coin collectors will try and complete a P D (S Circulating Quality) S Proof Silver proof or 5oz set or two imo ! Thanks for the recap. Those are some really low mintages for circulating P&D quarters. But the 2010 and 2011 rolls haven't appreciated. Maybe the 2012s will do better. BTW Acadia S-Mint rolls sold out today.
I didn't see them listed when I just looked on the mint's website a moment ago... Could be my aging eyesight tho....
Just checked and Denali is still for sale. Since it was the last one made and has the lowest sales, it may be available a few more days. Heck it's the only low mintage ATB left. If I didn't already have rolls of all, I'd buy'em up at 18.95/roll.
You are right, I missed em - they're right at the top. Gotta get my eyes checked or more sleep... LOL!
Denali is probably very close to a sell out. Their status on the Mint website now says available for shipping on Feb 2nd.
Yep, that's the way the others sold out too - first said backordered, then sold out because no more 2012's are being made.
