I was comparing my 1973-D Kennedy Half to the 1973-S 50c DDR-003 on varietyvistas website and they look the same. I'm not sure mine is machine doubling or if they are the same and would like some help, opinions, and advice. Thank you in advance!

Also, the ends of the rays look the same as the 73-S.

I don't know - they both look like legit DDRs to me, but my experience with varieties is only in its infancy.

    They all look like MDD.

I have to agree that both look like machine doubling.
I know you mean machine doubling, but I personally try to stay away from saying "mdd", because it is also an abbreviation for "master die doubling". Just a thought.
    Keep up the hunt!

non cents...I personally try to stay away from using “MD” because it is also the abbreviation for Master Die, using MDO and MDR for obverse and reverse. You can see “MD” used through out the CONECA Master Listings (http://www.varietyvista.com/Variety Master Listings/kennedy doubled dies 1971-1994.htm#_1976). I think MDD (Machine Damage Doubling), especially using the word “Damage” is more appropriate. Just a thought. Keep up the hunt!
