    Oh, nice gold crown. I handled one on consignment for a little while, but it was nowhere near that nice. At the time, it was the first one I'd ever seen.

    I agree with you. These seem to be rarer on the auction circuit then the fabled Triple Units of 1643/1644. Charles I coins are way scarcer then James I . Maybe Cromwell after removing the King's head/ also melted down his existing coins to produce Commonwealth coinage.
