I've seen some 1919 Wheat Pennys go on ebay for hundreds of dollars.

When I was 13 I was rooting around a heap of coins I had trying to find the oldest one. I stumbled upon an a very weathered penny, and I could barely read what the number said, but finally I realised it said 1919! And I had gotten it just in standard change! Its amazing what you can still find in the change you recieve to this day!

However, as you can see, it is quite weathered and oxidised. Whats the range of what this is worth? Just out of curiosity.

(I used my Scanner to get some high-detail scans of the penny, and made a collage of both sides. There is only one penny.)

Probably not worth very much, maybe 10-15 cents? I am not sure if there are many ways to get rid of that heavy oxidation.

    Just a guess.

Yeah, prob. wouldn't put too much stock in it. I've found a few 1919's in my roll searches. Still, it's great that you can find stuff like that still. Wonder what it's gonna be like 10-15 years from now...
