Sometimes I feel silly for ordering this set as it's bigger brother comes out later in the year but the early arrival is fun to behold. I think the folks at the mint did a real nice job with my set........

I really like the look of the Perry's Victory quarter, and not just because I'm from Ohio.... I like the Mount Rushmore design too.... Looking forward to getting these myself this year.

Mount Rushmore is my favorite. I'm really glad they chose this design over what they were previously going to use, which was a pretty generic shot that was way too close to the 1991 commemorative.

I like that this one is a much different perspective.

Very nice designs again this year, my fav would be Mt. Rushmore.

Nice coins. Being a treehugger, I lean toward White Mountain and Great Basin.

If I can find those 2 in a 69 slab at a decent price, I will get them. I'm not usually keen on slabs, but it's a better way to collect parts of a set for me.

We just covered Fort McHenry in our Cub Scout Webelos den meeting, as part of the Citizenship badge we have to learn the history of the Star Spangled Banner. Very cool to see it on the quarter. I'll have to get some (circulating ones) when they come out and pass them out to my cubs.

  10. My favorite is the White Mountains. I like the depth of field effect added by the trees in the foreground. This one will look good as a 5 ounce puck too. TC

I might be completely out to lunch (and there's a good chance of that), but I have followed this series pretty closely since it was begun. To me, the silver proofs that seem to look the best in hand are those that have a good balance of mirrored background and frosted devices.

All of the 2013 coins have this, except the Mount Rushmore. I agree it is refreshing to see a new design for this, but I would bet when it is actually seen in hand, the fact there is so much frosting on it will detract from its panoramic appearance. Again, I could be way off base, but I don't think so. Also, 25% of the coin is comprised of Tommy J.'s schnozola.

  13. With that nose, he looks more like Tommy Lasorda. :D. TC
