    Hi all,

I'll be posting my errors-varieties of the day much more consistently now, so I thought I'd start off with a good one. This is an 1863 Civil War Token with an obverse shattered die and reverse clash. It is such a strong clash that you can even see the H of the obverse at about the 2 o'clock on the reverse clash. A very interesting and major error, with a rating of R-3 (500-2,000) surviving pieces.
    Enjoy!

Found this one on ebay, and for a decent price considering the rarity and condition. The seller had it listed as a "multiple die crack error", but I immediately recognized it as the shattered die. I would probably give it an AU-50 or 53. I don't see much, if any, wear on the coin, and there is still some nice luster to it.
