Cleaned (Dipped)?

I'm considering purchasing this coin with the intent of slabbing it (since I don't yet have a graded IHC). The price is decent (i.e.: worth slabbing); the only concern is whether it's been dipped or not. It looks bright Red BU, but the color seems a bit too "light". Since I'm not an IHC expert, I'm asking the experts!

    Thanks,

Still lots of luster left on that coin so if it was dipped at some point the person who did it knew what they were doing.

My guess is it would slab. I see too much luster on the coin to say it was dipped at some point.

if you don't mind me asking, what would the purchase price be? If it is too good to be true, then the seller might know of problems. I have had great success buying raw indian head cents and subsequently slabbing them.

Thanks for all the responses! The seller's asking price is $130, which is decent considering (assuming it slabs) would easily grade 64 if not higher.

    I would not call that a great deal......you can purchase a slabbed MS64RB 1901 for $130.

At that price, I would not risk buying this coin. If it were $50, I would, but not $130. Just my opinion.

Whoops; I meant assuming it would grade RD, not RB. Do you think it would hit RB, not RD?

For whatever it's worth, I do not think that coin looks natural.
