Someone ordered some halves from a bank that I pick up from and only wanted $50 worth. The person that does the orders called me to tell me that I can have the rest of the box ($450). Also I do have some nice results to post this weekend. Waiting until there will be light outside so that I can take a decent picture (with my camera phone) of my finds, which includes some Bennie's! :) When I get home during this time of year, its always dark and my pics come out dark. It's been a good week for me :)

One of my banks mentioned today that they'd have an extra $450 for me next week, thought that was weird. Wonder what's up...

Ha, I wish. With that amount being so close to $500 my guess is either someone asked them to order $50 worth for themselves, and I'm getting the remainder, or the head teller is getting in on the action and is trying to get rid of his dumps on me. This bank has a coin counter, so I'm thinking scenario #1 is more likely.

    $100 in dimes- a 63 dime

$150 in quarters- skunk but 9 rolls was uncirculated state quarters from 1999 to 2002. Should I keep our dump?

Personally, I would keep them and then try to sell them. Maybe sort them by state and wait until you have a full roll of each, or just sell them as a lot. Again, just my opinion.

In each roll was the same state, so I have 9 roll of 9 different state.

So then I would try and sell each roll on either here or eBay. Good luck:thumb:

A $499.00 bag of coin counter dimes gave up a single lonely roosie. Luckily, he has some new friends from my $465.10 back of coin counter dimes - 12 roosies and 2 50% canadians. 15 silvers today, nice!

Question, with so many coin counters in a city why would someone go through the trouble of re using a BWR and cashing them in like that?
When dumping I was $2.00 short so they must have found some silver and not replaced them. I made up for it with the coins found in the reject tube and only ended up being down $0.10.

Nickel motherload: Had the wife pick up 10 rolls of nickels for me from a bank we dont go to from a town we are rarely in. First roll 13 pre 60, second roll 11 pre 60, third roll 12, fourth 14, then 11, then 15,6,7,18 and last was 17. Before today I was averaging around 38 pre 60 coins per $100 searched and today I search $20 worth and find 124 pre 60 and 1 war nickel.

What gives, did someone cash in someones collection? I am going back there tomorrow to clean them out of whatever they will give me. Most were common dates but some were key. They were all a little more worn than I usually find, that was strange too.

Also thinking about trying a few rolls of dimes and quarters and cents to test the waters, who knows what they all cashed in!?!

where did all the ikes go? I ask for them all the time and have never found them in a bank. Did they get pulled by the fed and destroyed? There is no way they are all sitting in collections

Well I give them out as tips, pay at fast food and gas stations. the clerks and waitresses all want to keep them so more and more keep ending up in collection jars. also, some of the old slot machine collectors keep some to run in machines. I think they will soon have run their course and be gone from circulation all together.

You must ask and keep asking and keep asking. I believe I starting consistently asking for ikes around July. I found 527 of them throughout 2012. Ironically, a teller showed me about 7 a few hrs ago. Yes they are few and far between, but they are out there!

One box of Loomis-wrapped halves, picked up at bank today.
    One 68-D
    A bunch of proofs:
    3 71-s
    1 73-s
    1 77-s
    4 78-s
    3 81-s
    1 84-s
    4 85-s
    1 92-s
    1 93-s
    1 94-s
    1 2000-s
    1 05-s
    2 07-s
    2 08-s
    1 09-s

Almost all the remaining regular dates in awfully nice condition from 1971 through 2010. Somebody must have dumped a collection (or had it stolen and dumped by the perp).
