Somebody came in today trying to put these into the coin counter. I have a ear for silver and as soon as i heard it drop i ran over to stop them and took them up at my window.

This is one of my nicest finds.

Some other finds in 1 day have been:

    30 kennedy halves (65-69)
    2004 Silver Eagle
Stone mountain commemorative halve dollar along with 3 other 64 halves

Seems like I'm always coming across silver quarters one at a time or halve dollars too.

If you work at a bank or go to bank to ask the tellers if they have anything good i would love to see pictures of what you have came across.

I cannot believe that in this day in age, people think these are only worth face value.

Good job on the silver score!

That's what I miss most about no longer working retail. Getting occasional silver. One time I worked at a convenience store. Needed quarters, so pulled a roll out of the safe. All silver. Opened a 2nd roll, all silver. Out of 10 rolls we got from the bank, 8 were all silver. A very happy day.

A lot of silver was hoarded back in the mid 1960's. Now us old people are cashing out, and we still think it's worth face. That's just the way it is.

Wouldn't it be more ethical to have let them know what they have?

I've done that in the past before. Thats what i use to do. I do agree that some might think its unethical to keep it. After doing it so many times i thought that if people had common sense and they had a coin that was almost 100 years old that they might think it has some sort of value rather than face value. If people don't want to bother looking it up or taking it to a pawn shop then whats the point?

You guys are lucky! I was a cashier at target for 3 months, all I found were a few wheat cents.

What amazes me most is the silver eagle. It clearly says 1oz silver. Everything else I would understand the average citizen to know.

I agree, so many people just lack common sense and if they want to give it all away I am open arms.
