    Hi Mali,

First thing you should do is get hold of accurate scales and weight these coins.

My reason for saying this is that most Italian large silver coin types have been the subject of the forgers art and some are so good that even in the hand the ordinary collector would have difficulty in telling if they were genuine or not.....unless they had a scale at hand.

Both coins should weigh in at 25 gms. Fakes are usually lighter by 1 or 2 gms...or even more. Even a well worn genuine coin won't vary the weight by any more than a 1/10th of one gram, so weighing them is a fairly reliable method of determining their credentials.

If these are genuine they would be worth in excess of 200 euros each. I suspect that the Lombardy one is a fake just going by the colouration and that it will turn out to weigh about 22 gms. I can't make out sufficient detail on the San Marino coin to even hazzard a guess but my suspicions are already raised. I hope for your sake that they do weigh in at 25 gms each but my gut feel is that they won't.
