i went to the bank to make my loan payment. a quy walks up to the teller beside me. while my teller is processing my transaction the other guy asks his teller if she has any rolls of half dollars and she says no. i was going to ask my teller the same thing. then his teller asks MY teller if she has any. she has 3 rolls. and gives them to the other teller. i told her i was going to ask her the same thing. then she says....well i got these from the same woman and she holds up 18 half dollars..................................15 of them are SILVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. i score 7.50 in silver. 1 64 and 14 66-69. he scored 30 dollars worth. i was 30 seconds away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i still got a nice catch though :smile
Note to self: Next time ask for half dollar rolls before conducting any other bank business including loan repayments. Congrats on your silver score. :smile TC
Then there is the poor woman who turned them in for face value. Cashing in her dearly departed husband's collection so that she could pay some bills. Sad. She just gave up hundreds of dollars for cents on the dollar and probably could have used that money to live on. One persons hard times is anothers great score. Life is strange at times.
