I really like it beucause it reminds me of my dog. Roman Republic, C. Antestius, 146 B.C. Rome became the sole superpower in the Mediterranean world, a distinction it would hold for 600 years."
Definitely a nice addition to your collection. And the does look like your dog a bit. Glad your finally got a new coin
Thanks all hopefully I can get some good shots of it when I wake up. He can be sometimes lol He likes murder stuffed toys.
Nice to see our favorites pets on 2000 years old coins. This is nice Randy. Although my wife isn't a collector AT ALL, she's got one roman coin (I gifted her to be honest, and I look after it...) featuring her beloved greyhound : C. Postumius, Denarius Rome mint, 74 BC Bust of Diana right, bow and quiver above shoulder Hound running right, C POSTVMI and TA (ligate) at exergue 4.0 gr Ref : RCV # 330, RSC, Postumia # 9 Q
Nice one! It's always nice to find coins that have more meaning to us individually. Those are the ones I like the most when people share their coins.
I think the first photo is better too. Second one seems lifeless and the third of course is typical forvm quality.
Yeah the 2nd pic sucks, and I wanted to wait till I could get a decent one, but didnt have much time.
Randy, nice one. I love the little dog on the coin. Btw, your dog sure needs a bath man. Cucumbor, I love your coin of course. I got the same one, (its my avatar), after my mother passed. This obverse, (you can see it looks quite different than yours), looks like my mother when she was younger. She also had a greyhound. This coin came up for sale 2 weeks after she passed, and I have never seen another of this portrait since. Even the name was kind of eery, postumius.
