Anyone collect the "collectible" 5 OZ ATB "hockey pucks?"

The collector version has a P mint mark, a special finish, and a lower mintage than the bullion version.

Bullion looks super shiny and can tend to prooflike, which radically shows any imperfections. I've only seen them slabbed, and assuming the plastic was fine, the coin looked like it had fine lines throughout the surfaces. Collector finish looks amazing and has a beautiful shimmery luster, which is made even more stunning with varied designs like Gettysburg, in which the monument and rolling fields each take on a different look. The pucks are the epitome of the ATB series, which millions are already collecting in actual quarter form.

super. live and learn. glad i ended up with the collectible version. the mint website states 20k sold of the ATB silver bullion 5oz. coins sold.
would this be a total of collectible as well as bullion? somewhat confusing to me but somehow getting a little clearer
    as usual

Maybe a 2013 set of these is what I should get our unborn child this year. My son "got" a MS70 2011 ASE set. I am trying to buy something from their birthyear for each child.

The reverses are pretty, and its a nice hefty bit of PM. George just creeps me out.

Oh, he's not as bad as the late images of the queen, IMHO.

Basically what I'm doing. 2010 - 2012 silver proofs and a couple for icing.:D I know alot of people don't like moderns and some people just call them state quarters 2 but I really like the ATB designs. I think they are much more aesthetic than most of the state quarters.

Sorry about the crappy phone pics. I'm going to try and take some better ones with a real camera this weekend.

IMHO the volcano will be a long term winner due to the modern design and name recognition. Other great names are gettysburg and Grand canyon. I'm up in the air whether or not the lowest mintage (such as Chaco) will compete, as I think fewer people will collect the whole set as opposed to just the best designs/names. I wonder that also about the Miss Liberty subset of the gold spouses. I'm also a big fan of Mt Hood and Chickasaw. If you like animals, Olympic and Denali are stunning, Glacier not so much and its mintage is too high to boot. So a lot of ways to go. Enjoy!

I have all fifteen sold to date. I noticed that they ended sales of all the 2011 pucks. Some of these would have a lower mintage than 25,000. I guess the extras must be going to melt.

I'm picking up the burnished Mint issues with the "P" mintmark. I'm more interested in completing the full set and not terribly worried about the roi.
