Morgan Silver Dollars and Royal British Mint Gold Coins

In my possession are multiple Morgan Silver dollars with various dates and mints as seen in the pictures attached. I also have (2) British Royal Mint gold coins. I know little to nothing about collecting coins but these have been in my family for years and was wondering if they had any such value?

Wow few of those morgans are very high grade and if I am seeing correctly, one is a proof-like. We need close of pictures of the morgans dates and also close up pictures of the front and back of them.

Close ups of the gold coins if you get a chance as well, those may be worth a good deal :thumb:

Do any of the reserves on your morgans have a CC mint mark?

At the very least, every Morgan should be worth about $30 or so at a minimum. Could potentially be more depending on the mint marks. (preferably you have some CC's)

 

Very nice, you have a gold sovereign. Now the only question is it a full or a half sovereign. If its a full sovereign its worth a little over $400, if its a half its worth a little over $200.

Do you have a scale to weigh it? A full sovereign weighs 7.98 grams, a half sovereign weighs 3.99 grams. (they are .917% gold)

 

I found the paperwork. It says a "Gem British 5LB Soverign-1985" and furthermore "British Royal Mint 1985 L5 Gold Sovereign Coin in Brilliant Uncirculated Condition"; no scale yet.

 

I also have 10 Roll Lot of 1967-P Kennedy Half Dollar Rolls (MS-63-65 Ch Uncirculated) - Im assuming these are most likely just worth their weight in silver?

 

oh wow in that case you have a nice big gold coin!! Is it almost the size of a morgan dollar?

The 5 pound sovereign should weigh 39.9 grams, and has a gold content value of $1850 or so. It may have an additional premium over the gold value as well since its a fairly uncommon coin.

Sounds right then, very nice! :thumb: You've got at a miminmum $3700 in gold or so, and like I said earlier, they could potentially command an additional premium as well. I tried Ebay searching for completed sales of the 1985 5 pound, but didn't find any.

You get a chance to check the reverse of your morgans? Any CC mintmarks?

 

There are mostly S, O, and unmarked on the reverse. I was scsred to take them out of their plastic to take the pictures. But I guess since you said they are around $30 it wouldn't hurt.

 

Thank you so much for all the help. I had absolutely no knowledge of any of these coins! I also have some old casino silver coins from around the world. Is there a market for those?

 

Some may be collectible, and some have a silver core of .5-.6 oz typically, so worth $15-20 if they do have the silver core (with brass outer ring typically). Posts some pics if you can't determine the content.
