I been wanting to own a gold ancient for awhile so I had a chance at the Muncie Indiana coin show today. Just a little bit of sticker shock so with price in mind I bought this coin.

    Gaulic Tribes Gold Stater
    65 BC
    Crude Disjointed Horse
    Blank

I like it and very happy to add it to my collection.

Nice coin! I really like the stylized, almost modernistic style of the horse. I wouldn't view the style as crude, though, but instead stylized in very much the Celtic manner. The coin does have what seem to be die flaws, but that is another matter.

Here is my only electrum Celtic stater:

Western Celts, 1st century BC, electrum stater, Namnetes, Nantes.
    Délestré 2187
    7.3 grams
D-Camera West Celts, El stater, Namnetes, Nantes, Délestré 2187 , Ist cen BC , 7.3g 12-26-20.jpg

    Fantastic pick-up!

There's something about gold staters that send a tingle down my body
