I am looking for a Morgan Dollar's for sale website. Would someone please give me a reccomendation, or someone they have dealt with in the past. Thanks, Jim
I'd be happy to make a recommendation. But I need a bit more info first - primarily how much do you wish to spend ? Are you looking for common dates or the harder to find examples ? Do you wish to buy circulated coins or UNC examples ? With Morgans - you can buy some very nice high grade examples for as little as $40. Or you can spend $40,000 for just one coin.
I am looking for a few brilliant graded Morgans by PCGS or NGC somewhere in the range $75.00-$150.00. I know I can't expect MS65 for these prices but I would like nice looking coins with mint luster MS62 or MS63. Thank you, Jim
I'm sure there are probably dealers, that post here, that can help you out, Jim. If you're interested, Steve Estes has a large inventory of slabbed coins like the ones you're looking for. I have dealt with Mr. Estes, and I would recommend him. Just type his name in the Google search engine box, and you will find his website.
Perhaps one of the best ways to find affordable examples of coins such as you mention would be to take a look at a couple of the auction houses like Heritage & TeleTrade. If you're not familiar with these companies - you don't have worry about them like you might buying from a seller on ebay. Heritage also has a good inventory where you buy the coins outright - no auction. I strongly suggest you check them out
Actually, at the upper end of your range ($150), you can get slabbed common date 65s. There are plenty of venues online such as eBay (not for the faint of heart, but with certified coins, if you know their book value your risk is reduced), TeleTrade, Heritage and others. Another poster mentioned Steve Estes above. While I've not had occasion to do business with him yet, those who have done so have generally been pleased, and he always has a very large selection of slabbed Morgans. (Right now, his web site shows 414 of 'em.)
I know that people tend to shy away from eBay, but I have dealt with this seller and have been very pleased. His eBay seller ID is champ_1999 Hope it helps.
