Hello all. I am looking for a little assistance in determining if this 1886 Indian Cent is a Business Strike or a Proof. Also could someone confirm whether or not this is a Variety/Type II 1886 Indian Cent (because the last feather in the headdress is pointed between the "C" and "A" in "AMERICA")? Any thoughts on what this coin would grade out at, and what it could potentially be worth? My knowledge of Indian Cents is quite limited so any help here would be greatly appreciated. Much thanks! 20130108_195410.jpg 20130108_195450.jpg

It does not appear to be a proof to me. Just a cleany business strike.

Yes a type II. Not sure it would grade out because those pictures do make it look cleaned - does not mean it is, just looks it.

That is one beautifully struck indian, but it is not a proof. From what I can see, I would grade it MS-64 due to the marks on the cheek, but MS-65 wouldn't shock me at all. The color does concern me a bit though

It's a type II as said. The proofs were made in both types but this is not a proof. I have to agree that the coin has been messed with.
