I'm looking for a list of coins that would state all you would need for an ENTIRE and COMPLETE collection. I'd prefer lists for Wheat Cents, Kennedy Half Dollars, Washington Quarters, Roosevelt Dimes, Jefferson Nickels and/or Presidential Dollars. I want the list to be a list that states EVERY variation of the coin for every year that it was in production. It would really help me with my US Coins Collection, and if anyone had a list like this it would be extremely helpful! Thanks in advance!
I don't have one myself, but I know that the red book would be a good place to start. BTW I approve of your mood
Littleton has, or had, a checklist at one time. I may have it somewhere. I will have to look. Found the link. http://www.littletoncoin.com/LCC/html/features/pdf/US_Coins_Checklist.pdf
I think two books would do the trick, the RedBook and the CherryPickers Guide. These are really essentials for any collector and money very well spent (they'll repay you very quickly). While these two books will list Date/Mintmark combinations and most major varities, collecting is very particular. For example, some only want toned coins (rings, rainbows, other) in their collection, or non-toned. Some want only MS coins, versus circulated. Of the former group, some will only want the highest-grade (must be very wealthy to have that taste), etc. For the latter, some only prefer coins with a history (previous owners). I guess the point is that while a book will give you a great list, the possibilities are endless, and you'll need a whole library for that. Reading and participating here at CT will help too Happy collecting.
Here's some lists, but it'll cost ya. I can't give out copyrighted information. Redbook Lincoln Cents Jefferson Nickels Washington Quarters
Yeah, I understand. Thanks for the links! & thanks jensen, I just found them, they seem to be exactly what I'm looking for!
TB, I think you'll like this link a bit more. It seems jensen's list is from 2008 http://www.littletoncoin.com/LCC/html/pdf/Personal-Checklist-of-US-Coins.pdf
Here is a checklist I have used in the past, very useful http://coins.about.com/library/Resources/About.com-Complete-US-Coin-Checklist.pdf
