Very cool. I am an astronomy buff so this is something I may have to look into purchasing.

The only problem I have with this...how do you know it's real? Anyone can make a silver coin and say it came from the Apollo 16 mission.

It has a COA. Actually a just portion of the silver was flown, total was 10,000 grains of silver that made the trip aboard Apollo 14. They mixed it in with the melt for these. Not sure how many were minted. I gave it to my GF for Christmas before I could take pics, so I'll steal it back and take some then post better ones.

As far as "anyone" making them, I'll bet if someone took the time to carve that design and transfer it to a die, they would sell the heck out of them, and I know this cuz she loved it, and I do mean, she loved it! (no pics of that though sorry)

Ditto! I was born in 68, my earliest memories are going to watch them launch from Vandenburg AFB. Gramps filled their vending machines so we had prime access.

I think I got mine for $15. That was a hefty sum for a 7 year old. This was more then 20 years ago tho.
