    Just got this today. It's been a while since I've gotten a nice one too. I don't have much time right now to snap some pics of it yet but heres the shop pic. I really like it beucause it reminds me of my dog.

    Roman Republic, C. Antestius, 146 B.C.

    Silver denarius, SRCV 95/1, Sydenham 411, Crawford 219/1e, RSC I Antestia 1, VF, Rome mint, weight 3.971g, maximum diameter 17.3mm, die axis 90o, 146 B.C.; obverse head of Roma right in winged helmet, C ANTESTI behind, X below chin; reverse Dioscuri riding right, puppy with both fore feet raised below, ROMA in a linear frame in ex, linear border;

    "IIn 146 B.C., Carthage fell to Roman forces under Scipio Aemilianus. The city was completely destroyed by order of the Roman Senate, despite Scipio's protests. Also in 146 B.C., the Romans defeated the Achaean League, Corinth was destroyed, and Greece became a Roman province. Rome became the sole superpower in the Mediterranean world, a distinction it would hold for 600 years."

    It's not my first personal Canis lupus familiaris coin ( though I guess these are just Canis lupus).

    Nice to see our favorites pets on 2000 years old coins. This is nice Randy.

    Although my wife isn't a collector AT ALL, she's got one roman coin (I gifted her to be honest, and I look after it...) featuring her beloved greyhound :

    Nice one! It's always nice to find coins that have more meaning to us individually. Those are the ones I like the most when people share their coins.

    Couldn't get this one quite right, but I'm definitely going with the first pic. Took me a while lol.

    I think the first photo is better too. Second one seems lifeless and the third of course is typical forvm quality.

    Randy, nice one. I love the little dog on the coin. Btw, your dog sure needs a bath man. :)

    Cucumbor, I love your coin of course. I got the same one, (its my avatar), after my mother passed. This obverse, (you can see it looks quite different than yours), looks like my mother when she was younger. She also had a greyhound. This coin came up for sale 2 weeks after she passed, and I have never seen another of this portrait since. Even the name was kind of eery, postumius.

    I've tried that with similar results. Besides, I'd have to re-shoot all my coins :confused:
