With prices as high as they are for the AGE anniversary set, I was just looking for some input on a good time to sell my extra sets. Will prices continue to climb or will they fall just as quickly as they went up? My origional plan wasn't to make money off of them, but with a few extra sets I think it would be stupid not to sell them. Then again I could be wrong... What do you think?

If your talking about the 20th anniversary gold and silver set they are not sold out at the mint and in fact are being returned by the 100's because the mint is selling both coins individually at a much lower price.

If its just the gold set you have demand is high now and gold took a drop today.

Well, it looks like right now if you sold em, you'd get over $4.5k on eBay. That would go a long way towards paying for the others you bought and wanted to keep.

Of course, no one can predict the future. It's really anyone's guess what happens. I could easily see them going up a bunch more. I also can imagine that all the people who bought em to make a buck are going to be dumping them like crazy soon and drive the price down. My guess is they go up for a bit more. I ordered a set after they sold out which I hopefully will get. For $4.5k, I'd be very tempted to put it on eBay. That's money you can lock into right now and use however you want on other areas of your coin collection.

I think it depends on how many "extra" sets you have.

Maybe sell one now if you need quick cash. Personally, I'm holding on to mine for the long haul. I'm hoping for the bubble to burst soon so I might be able to pick up one or two more. I think time will be on your side. Once the dust settles and all the big time gold collectors realize what they need and don't have ..the chase will be on for the reverse proof. Even the unc W has some real possibilities. I don't think the total mintage will be over 70,000 even with the release of the single issue. A big mintage for gold but relatively speaking small compared to the other gold mintages this year.

We'll have to wait and see.

The high price now is very tempting.

would you have the gold 3 coin sets graded my understanding is that you have to leave them in the shipping box from the mint and it cant be open

as soon as the three coin set is worth a premium over its purchase price in the range of 50% I'll unload all of them and make a tidy profit, so I can buy real coins.

Those good ole boys on HSN were trying to sell a slabbed set for $9,000. And they will be back on tonight.

Does anyone know how oversold the mint is on this set? I read on another forum that the mint oversold by 10,000 sets. My guess is that most, if not all are shipped at this point although someone was told by a mint rep that the know of a shipment on 11/27, but not sure if any will go aut after that. It seems that if the mint did oversell by that much and very few remain, they should start cancelling orders that they believe will not be filled.
