    Obviously, not a genuine mint error. However it has 7 days left, and is over 100 dollars.

    If this isn't enough by itself.....

    Q: Sir, I am interested in this coin. Would you consider $350.00 and end the auction early?
    Oct-05-06
    A: Im sorry, but no.I just listed the coin and it wouldnt be fair to other ebayers. Good luck bidding!.

    then.. he should add:

    obverse=silver, reverse=copper

    obviously this is the extremely rare thought non existant.. silper planchets the mint stored in Al Capone's vaults.

    I hear ebay will be adding smell-ovision to auctions in the future.. this one is just plain daisies..

    Richie: At least that one admits to it being a magician's coin. I had an uncle who was a pretty decent metal worker and turned these out as gag gifts all the time. I think his favorite was a buffalo nickel/washington quarter...........

    And of course, all the bidders' IDs are kept private so you can't let them know they're getting ripped off. What a shame.:rolling:

    I wrote him an email to ask him if he was unaware of what he was selling or whether he was just another ebay crook. I pointed out the other sale and that it was correctly labelled as a magicians coin. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he thinks what he has is genuine. He wrote me back this reply,

    "Sir, I did in fact look at that gentlemens coin. It looks very close to the one that I have listed. One exception: My coin on the side has for lack of a better term: ridges/grooves that normally appear on a dime/quarter/half dollar. Now, im honest and I do not appreciate being called a crook. Not by you nor anyone else. Before your so quick to judge my integrity I wonder what your expert credentials are and If they can be confirmed bu an independent 3rd party?. Or arfe you just spouting out of the other side of your body. Truth be told I have had a lot of positive interest in this coin including an initial offer of $350.00 when I first listed it. Within the first hour or so. Which I declined. If I was indeed a crook I would of jumped at that offer and ran with it. You would know that if you would of read the entire ad before rushing to judge me. Lastly, as I plainly stated in the ad this coin WAS dug up 35 years ago by a relative with a metal detector and I further stated that I know didly about coins. I can no be more honest than that, my description, and my pictures. Plus my overall reputation speaks for itself. Kindly do not email me again as you have been blocked. I have been more "kind and explanative" that you deserve. Its people like you that give ebay a foul name and reputation.
    Regards."

    I believe that he thinks what he has is genuine but I pointed out that there aren't many silver on one side and copper on the other side plachets being minted now or in the past and that if he looked close enough he'd see the line on the reverse side of the coin. I also referred him to this thread for further clarification. If he's honest, he'll do the right thing and edit his description. Also, he sounds British to me.

    winged-cent

    It shouldn't be to hard to see the cent has been filed down to fit the dime, it wasn't cut even around the circumference of the coin. oh well, once again buyer beware.:rolling:
