HELP PLEASE Lincoln Cent Open Or Closed AM

    Hi All
    I found this Lincoln Cent in change can you tell if the AM in America is open or closed sorry I can't get a better picture!
    Any help would be Appreciated. The Second Picture is a Closeup. Here is the date on the Lincoln Cent I thought it looked open but I wanted to see what everybody thought..:rolling:

    The date is a 2001 D I added a picture of the front.

    Hi,

    Keep it in case I am wrong, But I think it is a Close AM, which is as it should be. I think the die was overly dressed(polished ) and it removed some of the lower right portion of the A and the lower left portion of the M .

    This looks like a close AM, the wide AM has more of a separation.

    It is most definetely a close AM normal variety. I have seen 1000's and 1000's of lincolns to know. Your seperation will well defined for a wide am type 2.
