I have been watching them- they are $300 with an occasional one going for less- that is what they go for (link me an inexpressive one if you can find it)

I wonder if eBay considers it a valid sale.

I bought multiples of the El Yunque S Business strike quarters, and I threw a roll up on ebay just to see what it'd bring. With three days left in the auction, my one roll is up to $62.00 already. I am a bit shocked to be honest.

And how many bidiots do you think use eBay? My point is that these prices won't sustain themselves over the long haul.

So, you all think the S-Mint El Yunques will be selling for less than $1.50 each?

    Perhaps, maybe even less.

There you go, decent profit at $60/roll. And, $2 is probably very conservative - I'll bet they'll sell for at least as much as a proof with similar mintage.

After the frenzy, they will even out with other similar rolls.

Can’t argue that. But then, what are similar rolls? Unique factors include S-Mint business strikes of a probable popular series, an item that was ended early with no prior announcement, and concentrated in very few hands - could boost the price a bit more than similar mintage proofs.

Yes, but collecting for profit here - well ok, there's a few I wouldn't sell.

Makes me think of the 1950D nickel.

I don't understand what you're trying to say with regard to: "unlike the 1996w dime, these were sold to very few collecotrs in rolls & bags"

Wasn't the 96w Roosevelt ONLY available in mint sets with a total mintage of 1,457,000 coins?

    Or am I mistaken?

Hmm, the 1950d sells for $15 in ms60, has almost double the mintage of the s El Yunque, and very few collect Jeffersons. Like the 1950d, the price will probably go higher than where it will settle, but what's that price? Like I said before, these rolls are no way a sure thing, they simply have potential.

    Agreed. They have potential.
