I hope I put this in the right forum. I was wondering what a possible grade on this 1978 D Washington quarter would be. I'm guessing around an MS grade, but not positive. Also, is it real? The quarter looks too good to be around 30 years old.

Yes, it's both real and MS. It looks like it might be from a US Mint Set. I like the eagle reverse WQs and think they are attractive.

That's a nice solid but low end Gem. MS-65.

If you looked at 100 '78-D's in mint sets there'd be only two or three nicer.

This date come spectacular sometimes. The average grade is fairly good and most specimens will be a nice pleasing MS-63 or better but the top end comes without planchet chatter, a solid strike, and with nice PL surfaces.

I'm thinkin 64 if the hits on the neck are on the coin which they appear to be. 65 tops. Nice coin!

As blurred as the images are I can not grade but looks like it possibly could make gem.

Looks to be a few hits on the neck area or could be glare.I'd say MS64 maybe on a good day a 65

Based on the pics, we're all guessing... first glance 65... second glance nice 64
