where do you guys go to see up to date prices on coins

Crazy stupid newbies (lacking the wherewithal) set the price. Educated buyers patiently wait........

I don't think I can add any new resources - Doug and others have provided great perspective on getting what might approximate a current price (or price range).

If however your goal is not to sell, but to 'take a temperature' and see how much your collection overall, or specific coins have changed in value over some longer period of time, then perhaps try comparing apples to apples. So, if you used a Redbook 10 years ago, use that again - or if you used CoinWorld use that again. This will minimize the the other variables intrinsic in pricing, and give you an idea of what's fallen in and out of favor, relatively, over time. My $0.02.
