Hi Everyone, Found this in one of my boxes today. It's obviously a 1909 in pretty terrible shape. I flipped it over and it looks to be a VDB as well. It's pretty hard to tell since it's all crusted up so I figured I would post pictures of it here for those more experienced than me to take a look and chime in with their thoughts. Is it a VDB? Would it even grade AG? Or more likely CT (Craptastic) Thanks for looking!
I want to say yes but the letters look kind of funky. I don't know if it's the corrosion or my eyes but I think I do see a V, D, and the last letter is not really identifiable.
It is possibly a VDB, but would not come close to grading due to environmental damage. Since it isn't a 1909 S vdb, it really doesn't make a difference.
You sure you can't make out an "S" under all that corrosion under the date? I feel bad for this little guy. He is super beat up. I will give him a new home in a flip since he is the oldest coin I have found so far CRH'ing but he sure is ugly.
Meh, I bet I could throw it on ebay, put a "S" and couple of "??"s in the title and sell it for a nice little profit Not that I'd do that to my newest/oldest coin.
Hey you take that back! You don't wanna hurt his feelings do you? Naw who am I kidding it's ugly as sin. Sigh.
