it seems that the only raised bump (besides the corroded hole)that appears on the coin is that of the reverse bottom one. Both the 1908 and the 1865 (the one in better condition) sound real when droped. Does anyone have an opinion on the condition and price for the 1865?
There appears to be more than one bump - under the wreath, under the left top of the T and betwen the N & E. There are also several spots that look like casting bubbles. My opinion hasn't changed, but I've been wrong before. As for the '65 you are asking about - which one ? The one on the right or the one on the left ?
Hard to say for sure but I think the coin has some light wear, probably grade AU. Value around $50 - $60.
I have to go with FISH on this one. I also been through many o' Injians, an lived to write about it. It's a common form of corrosive remnant.
They look real to me, no expert though...that bright green color...probably bronze disease. I have had copper ancients that exibit this bright green that eats the coin...if you poke at it does it seem a bit soft and powdery?
