1913-1918 Karl Goetz Die Trial In Lead

Here is a new piece I picked up recently. This piece is an unfinished die trial for the piece shown at the bottom.

I thought it was neat and wanted to share.

Thanks! I have actually owned a few of the patterns struck with this bust so it's neat to own a die trial. Hard to believe that this is still floating around.

 

I also put a call in to NGC today about getting it certified. They are supposed to call me tomorrow.

 

I'm impressed that NGC has ventured (with some success) in certifying medals and jetons.

I think a great image on a medal or jeton best captures the part of numismatics I like best...the historical aspect.

It's struck on lead. They use lead because its soft and won't damage the unfinished die.
