I've received this coin for christmas and have no knowledge about half dimes at all... I was hoping a couple of people might have some knowledge on this coin and what its grade may be... It is certified by PCGS, but there is a jump in prices and was hoping to have a few opinions on it. Thanks -Kyle
As you know, the photos are not much to work with, but I believe this is likely a Ch VF example. While there may be a value jump in higher grades, I do not believe the potential is there to warrant resubmission. That said, its a nice coin, so just enjoy it as she is.
I gave the coin the benefit of the doubt and guessed 40. nice coin. a bit dark, but I like them that way.
I'm gonna guess PCGS gave it vf-35. The areas I check are Liberty on the shield, the lines on the shield and her skirt detail. Since Liberty is not complete, I'll call it high VF.
