This is my first error coin. Bought a bag of Wheats from someone and they threw this into the deal. Unfortunately no date on the coin but it looks to be about 75% off the planchet. What is something like this worth? How rare are these types of errors? New guy here. ha. Sorry for bad photos
I have a coin in the same condition, meaning, it is way off set and you have no date. The detail requirement for this class of mis-strike lays in being able to ID the coin however without a date and mint mark, that becomes impossible. That is to say, had this coin been turned 90 degrees and the date been legible, the coin would be worth considerably more. As it is, I bought my coin in auction back in 1986 and there is no way to determine what it is. Mine was placed in a holder and graded as "BU" but again, the point is moot as all you can read is "IN GOD" and "Liberty" everything else missed the strike. I bought mine for $3.50 in auction because I was 12 and didn't know better. It was still my first error puchase and I will never part with it, but it is essentially worthless.
This is a cent struck off-center, probably 70%. Although you won't be able to know the exact date, you can approximate by looking at the design, as there are subtle changes between the designs certain years.
