That one is worn pretty much to a point to where diagnostic aspects would be difficult if not impossible to inspect, so I wouldn't pay more than $25-30 for it. It's on the verge of just being a filler. Guy
Very cool coin, it's an S236 which is an R1 very common variety. The interesting part of this coin is the very late die state, with a cud above the ST in states and all the die cracks present on the back. It's either the last, or the second to last die state. Unfortunately, these are common even in late die states and do not bring a premium, I would call this net AG3 and ave- with a value around $20.
In that condition which I would give a grade of Fair-2/AG-3 and because it has some edge nicks I wold say about $25 tops.
AG details, avg-, net FA-02. A few edge bumps, some roughness, but overall quite a nice planchet and nice full date for the grade. Not sure of the variety, I take Beef's word for it, but it looks like a cool shattered die and neat cud on the reverse! $35-50 retail I'd probably spend a little less. Cool coin, and just goes to show you don't have to spend big money to get a neat piece of history!
Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm thinking of going for it. It's listed at $30. Not too much more than your guesses.
I agree at $25 - $30 but I would look for something closer VG at least for probably a tad more than twice the money personally. If I owned that I would always wish it had a bit more detail everytime I had it in my hand.
