Thanks for the technicality JW, but I'm gonna play this one by straight ole American tradition. PS Clad proof sets, NGC or PCGS slabs.
My mail doesn't come for 3 more hours or so, so I might get mine today or maybe I have lonegun ... I have a complete proof set run though  edit: unless those proof sets were 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 or 1954....:eat:
OK. Mine went out at about 11 AM PST (finally). I hope mine brings a bit of happiness to that patient person on the receiving side. :smile
I hope that the one that I sent made it. I sent it over a week ago, but I don't know if it ever got there. I barely ever see my recipient on the forum, but he may just be in another section that I seldom see.
I'm about to open mine, I can't wait any longer. I haven't bought a new coin in over two months because I am saving up a bunch of money for the New Orleans ANA show and I am having withdrawls. That package is mocking me.
just checked the mail and nothing but junk mail:so-sad:... i might be able to carry on but it will be tough
I figure since I didn't get mine out until today, I won't open mine until this evening (then I can post pics). I don't think my recipient has been posting that they haven't received their gift yet.
Well, I cracked! But when I was a kid, we were allowed one gift to open on Christmas eve, so I am only following family tradition. My gift contained nine coins, first was this nice set of ATB quarters... A beautiful set with some realy nice designs. I have largely ignored these, but maybe now I have to get on them and get a set together. Next were some nice 2012 cents from Canada. If I hear correctly, this is to be the final year of circulation of these coins and Santa sent me two varieties. Magnetic and non-magnetic. The next one, Santa must have known about my weakness for proof coins. A nice 1979-S type 2 Lincoln cent with a nicer cameo than the one in my Dansco. This one will be an upgrade to the one that I have shortly. The last coin is my favorite, a very nice 1938 Jefferson with some interesting wood grain going on. Thank you very much Santa!!!!! btw, I have no idesa why some of the images are sideways, my computer died and I am having to use my ipad to visit with you guys. Merry Christmas to all of you.:smile
Well, I'm sorry to hear that some of you haven't received your gifts yet. That's a shame. It looks like maybe my recipient didn't receive mine yet, I don't see it in pictures yet, but I did post it at the ups store on the 15th along with another package to go USPS and one to go UPS. I won't find out til later if both were received by today. They were to send it regular USPS to be picked up on Mon, the 17th. I'm surprised that the USPS fell short on this one.
I don't know how I missed that, I like them even more now... Is this something that they are going to continue, or is this a one year thing? I have heard a few conflicting stories. Thanks again Santa, I am usually so focused on older coins that I rarely appreciate some of the nicer moderns.
My secret santa is extremely cool. After cruising around (in a borrowed car) looking at Christmas lights, me and my wife just got back home and she encouraged me to open my gift and post it on CT. Well, for starters, I got a 2011 proof Sac dollar.
