Yes. Virtus, Pax, Virtus; Caracalla, Maximinus I, Trajan. All silver denarii. VF, VF, F. All look good. Be sure to keep them with their correct original holder. I noted some of the had seller information on them and that could help if we get to a question later. The pictures are OK but you could crop closer to the coins.
Severus Alexander from Marcianopolis Provincial bronze with Pietas ? reverse VF - a nice one Byzantine anonymous follis Christ facing - reverse reads King of Kings in Greek F+ Septimius Severus denarius Rome mint Fortuna seated aF All look good but you can never be sure from photos. Note that machine gun posting will get machine gun replies but you can figure out which goes with which or use these clues to do your own research.
Constantius II Falling Horseman AE2 Sirmium mint VF Gallienus (joint reign) billon Antoninianus showing Gallienus and Valerian shaking hands VIRTUS AVGG VF Antoninus Pius death commemorative denarius with altar aVF Greek Histaia silver tetrobol nymph on prow F There are many fakes of this one and this is worn enough to hide some evidence. To my guess, this is OK but I could be wrong. This is one that coming to you in a holder from a good dealer would be reassuring. Severus Alexander Silver denarius Emperor sacrificing aVF I see no reason to doubt any but the Greek is so commonly faked that they cause special concern as if they are guilty until proven innocent. Break time.
Thanks so much. I will post slower and take my time going forward. My biggest problem is I don't know values so will never be able to sell. I collect watches not coins LOL All the best
Most of the coins shown so far have about a $30-$50 value each. Most exhibit having been circulated and they are common types. Nice coins though!
Thanks so much....do I have to sell individually or would someone buy in bulk? i enjoy them but as I said my hobby is watches...too expensive to have more than one hobby!!!!!
The penny lady is a member here that I THINK inherited a can of old cents and other coins from her grandmother? And she has since then, over some time, turned it into not only a healthy collecting hobby, but also a successful business/career (she even appeared on Pawn Stars, not for the coins though). Caution: all of this is from memory of reading her posts and others, I have a decent memory ... Good luck with your collection and also the US coinage you later posted, I hope the hobby grows on you...
I think with any type of collection, its more profitable to sell in small parts and individually, with maybe an exception with bullion.
A dealer who buys a collection as a lot provides a service for which he deserves to be compensated. Too many dealers will see a group like this and only make an offer on the best items leaving the owner with a problem of how then to dispose of the remainder. To me, that last class of dealer does not deserve as great a 'wholesale discount' as the ones that take the cream and the skim together. Which way is better depends on how much you value your time. There are coins in this group that I would love to add to my collection but not enough that I would pay retail price for the whole group. The best way to sell coins is the way that fits your desires to do the work required.
