Picked these up yesterday. I feel like I got a steal at ONLY $7!!!!!!

The 47, 51, and 54 all have MUCH nicer toning than is showing up in these photos. I'll have to get some better photos up.

    I love the 68 D, just dripping.

New early x-mas goodie figured I'd share. She wasn't well treated before but I very happy to have her.

I wish those old worn coins could tell their stories: where they've traveled, who they've been with, how many loaves of bread or swigs of whiskey they've bought, how many times they've been flipped to make a decision. In many ways, they have a certain appeal that lazy, uncirculated coins don't.

  14. Geez, couldn't agree with you more. This why I collect what I collect. These were the coins that saw everyday life in circulation...not in a drawer.

Wow... Robecs photography skills are improving! I've gotta admit, I wasn't impressed by some of the stuff he was doing when he first started offering this imaging service, but I've gotta say now that if I ever had a toned proof coin that needed imaging, he'd be my first option. :thumb:

    Ohh, and nice '54, WingedLiberty!

Looks like a worn circulation strike to me.

What is the error in the date & motto? I don't see anything other than circulation wear.

Thanks for the compliment, but in response,
I don't have an imaging service and don't offer one.
It is just a hobby I have been able to satisfy thanks to a small group of collectors.

    Results may vary.

I found this coin in my change, I've studied the lower lip, where it meets the chin, and it has an oval indent, like the one that matches the proof ! The regular strike is shaped more like a pyramid ! I also had it look at by a local grader, we said it was a matte proof ! :smile
