Theyre all ancient. Mix of roman republic, imperial and byzantine. Looks like some good ones too.

It is easier to take a pic of each, front and back to give you a better idea of what you have and value if its a concern.

I wouldnt go through a dealer till you know what you have. There is a couple of common coins not worth a whole lot and that particular gordian III that says $75 may not be worth much more then $50 since he's so common.

You would do better taking the best photos you have and have the ancient collectors here tell you the market value. I do pretty well estimating but we have some who are even better.

A little time can lead to better rewards then some random dealer who may lowball you. Many dealers just focus on u.s. and lowball or could care less about ancients.

I post on many coin forums but this is the main one I post on due to it being friendlier and having a family vibe.

Also if you do take photos, do not use a scanner as they wash out coins. Also some of the coins in the pile, being roman republic, could be fake. There is many good fakes of them.

I suggest going on google and looking up roman republic coins, roman imperial coins, and byzantine coin and you can see what coins closely relate to what.

If you want to sell, offer them to a dealer who deals in and knows ancients - not some bullion buyer. The link you posted suggests that dealer would know nothing and have no interest in the coins unless they have someone to whom they wholesale lots like yours that happen into their hands. If you want to know the coins, you can photo them and post them here for help, but if all you want is a quick sale, just ask for names of buyers of lots. I see nothing terribly high end and nothing obviously bad but, like Mat said, fakes lurk and the value of the lot will depend on how many fakes and how much trash it contains. From what I see, I believe there will be few if any fakes. The selections look like a normal collection assembled over time and the sort of collection that gets 'inherited' without instructions from the owner. I do not see things that are almost always fake. The ball is in your court. Post photos and ask help or sell wholesale.

Careful, inheriting a box of coins can lead down the rabbit hole. It happened to the penny lady!

It is a waste to post wider than will fit on one screen making people scroll to see the coin. Something like 600 pixels tall is enough. If you know how to do it, combine the two sides into one file. If not post three obverses and three reverses separately. I suggest you photograph similar (in size and brightness) coins together if you must combine them. Adjust the brightness so they have good detail. The more you put into doing good images, the more likely you are to get accurate help.
