To be honest I do not know... this is one of the last notes I bought before having to go thru "C" treatments...I did not get to examine it in great detail....for the most part I lost interest in many things due to having to part with them in order to keep on breathing. I stuck back all the off set errors, the Small Size Series 1934C set's and some other random notes. The majority of my Small Size Collection is at Auction (Heritage Fun Show) .....I think I may have kept 30-40 notes out of ~400 Thanks for the post...
1969 $5.00 Star note I got as payment at face $ only $5.00 but if were 1969A or B * note I am sure what price guide has in it??? 1969 * CW Note price guide has on in EF is note as $25.00.it look better today as I put in a big book and all the wrinkles are gone EF is what a note dealer told me he pay for it.
Sorry of your condition. My wife has had cancer twice[1965, 2008]. breast and kidney and is still with me. I pray for your complete recovery. The direct transfer, will be raised as a regular print is. A indirect transfer is flat. Most of the people do not know the difference. The direct is more expensive and not detected. I used to be a printer, (hand letter press setting [Heidelberg] and later off set. A B Dick, and multilift systems) in and out of high school.
Unfortunately pressing the note in a book may improve it's immediate appearance, it won't improve the grade. In fact it will hurt the grade and the value by removing the original embossing. The Standard Catalog 31st ed has it listed as $20 in XF. Past auction records mostly high grades. A 40 sold for $26.99 in 2009 and a 50 sold for $18.00 in 2012. If the dealer offered you $25.00 for it, I would take it.
