Do you find this toning attractive? part II

    Not really but I own a (pcgs) MS 66 1962-d dime with amost the exact same toning. I got it cheap for that very reason it was not "attractive" toning. Then again everyone has their own opinion :D

    The image is wildly overexposed and the coin might actually possess positive eye appeal; but at nearly $20k I want something more than positive eye appeal.

    I dont like any toning that makes a coin look like it has dirt all over it!

    Nope, not me. Looks like a tobacco stain.
    But as I've said in the past I don't like toning -- period.
    I started collecting during the "blast white" era and I've never shook that off.

    EXCEPTION:
    I find nickels (generally Jeffersons, but sometimes Buffalos) that acquire their particular brand of light, colorful toning to be quite appealing.
    I'm talking about the ones that have the pastel color.

    No for me too. I'm another blast white collector. Some toning is pretty, but to me it's all really just surface damage.

    This toning is neutral in my opinion. No addition or decrease in eye appeal.
