In the safe at work, I found we only had new $1 dollar bills. I noticed all of them began with 00888, and that we had all of the 008880 and 008888 bills. So I was able to get the following bills, all Gem Uncirculated, straight from the BEP:

    00888008
    00888080
    00888088
    00888800
    00888808
    00888880
    00888888

    Photo here.
Let me know what you think.

I think as a group if in 66 or better grade they are worth over $175. I'd say that's a good day!

I don't know anything about this area of collecting, but my guess would be the 00888800 and the 00888888 would be the most valuable. Is that right?

I tend to agree with these two posts by Urbanchemist and Medoraman. Nice to find in general circulation.

Very nice pickup! Not only a bunch of binarys, but a binary radar too! 00888800. Congrats on the haul!

Would these be considered circulated though? They were straight from the treasury and in sequential stacks of 100. They even still had the strap straight from the FRB explaining that there might be star notes. I figure I saved them from circulation, as they never got sent to registers, and never were distributed to the general public.

Also, if I decide to sell them, should I do it as a whole set or "part" it out?

Based on what I have learned here on CT, selling them individually might be the most profitable for you.
