...and did alright. 2017 1/10 onza Libertad. Mintage 8,850. Cost me $3.25 plus shipping. Here's the ebay photos: And my photos:
Man I love bad Ebay photos. Not to hijack your thread, but here's a great example of why I love doing this. I won this for $25 on Ebay. I was the only bidder. In hand: And it's a repunched date!
Dang it I looked at it four times and still didn't see. ORO PLATA I see it now. I was going to say what was the seller thinking of gold. The sellers picture gold tint, playing with my brain. Nice pickup.
Yeah, it's silver. Gold would have been an absolute steal, but no such luck there. Still happy with this uncommon silver pickup.
This is what I spend hours and hours doing on eBay. Looking through awful blurry photos looking for hidden treasures. My display picture was one such find. In a 2x2, through blurry pictures, personally sniped at the last second of the auction!
I must have run into vertigo Last night I stumbled on a listing I had saved but couldn't remember why. Won a few dollars at the casino so I figured Why not see if this is a real cent. Normally I don't bother with this stuff but seller has good feedback and over 1000 so I put in a bid and it stuck. This morning I was watching the listing and got outbid. Concerned about having to deal with the eBays verification at the last few seconds I put in a little larger size bid to see where the sellers bid was Soon got pushed up and outbid so I knew the other bidders was watching I was thinking about what I wanted to spend to see if this cent was real or counterfeit and put in $101.01 and must have subconsciously hit the bid button too early. The other bidder bid a few times pushing my bid up to the max and stopped. (Almost felt like a shill bidder scenario) Since you stuck around this long, how did I do? Can you spot what I chased With this quality picture? Probably easier to answer in the description Would you have taken a shot on these? What are the odds the 1914-D is real?
What am I missing? I’m assuming shipping was cheap and maybe around $1 which would put you at $42/oz on this.
I don’t see how that’s a score. $42/oz. Not like it ended up being spectacularly toned. The sellers photos were perfectly fine and not hiding anything.
I think it was more the lower mintage numbers of the numismatic coin. The buyer felt good with paying the premium for over the silver bullion content.
The series has notoriously low mintages. This one has a mintage of 8,850 - so not the lowest in the series, but low enough. They don't sell often, but the two sold on ebay this year netted $12.95 for the seller. Again, not the score of the century, but I did alright. Of course, you may not see numismatic value in bullion pieces. @rte - let us know if the 1914-D ends up being legit.
There's more counterfeit 14-Ds than real ones. Although if it's a fake maybe you are protected because item not as described? IDK anymore. Let's see photos.
No I've never bid on pennies. But there are people who seem like shill bidders who really aren't. All I can say is this, DON'T BID UNTIL THE LAST SECOND LITERALLY! Figure up what you would max want to pay. And when the bid is lower at the last second, drop it. You win or you lose. Because yes, if you want to play the bidding game and I don't care if I win or not, I'll play with you.
Michael here is the photo what can you tell me? At least I'm getting some entertainment value from it I'll put pictures up when it arrives, I'm really surprised there weren't more bidder s.
Well the jury returns it's verdict. 1914 cent is legit just NO -D A run of the mill 1914 plain no mint mark. I'll be sending these coins back along with the shoulda been 1914-D cent to the seller unless he wants to make me an offer at around face value on the lot? Swing and a miss
