When the American Eagle Gold 20th Anniversary set is delivered and 'In Hand', do you think the price will go up or down from the 3500 or so it is selling now on ebay?

Once mine is delivered, I'm sure it will go down. That is what my dad said it would do, and he's usually right on these things.

Come on guy's...lets have a little optimisim! After all there are only 10,000 Reverse Proofs available. My personal thoughts are for such a low minted item there will be a very select group of folks that will want to add this to their collections. I for one collect the series both proof and uncirc...all I can say as a AGE, ASE and APE Collector is WOW!! What a set!

It will go up but not as much now that the mint is releasing the unc with W mint mark.

    Think of it this way.
    The proof sells for $880.00
The unc W sells for $720.00

That means the reverse Proof is worth $1,010.00.

People will be shipping their reverse proof to NGC as soon as they get them. Very few of the 10,000 set will stay together. The reverse proof will go up and it will take the sets that haven't been broken up yet ...with it.

You can take that to the bank.

    20th anniversary sets

I think the Mint's antics have confused enough collectors to the point these sets will be worth only for bullion value, PLUS whatever the Reverse Proofs end up going for!! Probably around the original Mint selling price of $2610 or so, the only unknown is IF the Mint plays around with the REV. Proofs, then the bottom will fall out, since the others are already at average mintages or more!!

    WHO KNOWSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:headbang:

The real question is how much premium do you put on the reverse proof? It appears it is priced at approx $1100 or so now considering the prices you will pay for the proof and W Unc. I keep reading that 10,000 is high minatge for gold coins. However, I wonder what the population is of collectors who collect the AGE coins. The reverse proof is a must have for those collectors to complete their collections. Seems to me that there are more than 10,00 based on sales of proof AGEs.

I think for sure these coins are going to sell for a premium at least for a while. There is enough buzz about these selling out in 24 hours that I think people will be trying to get their hands on them for a while. Whether that price will stay there in 6 months is another matter.

I placed my order after they were sold out so I'm curious to see if I'll get my hands on one. If I don't, they are almost guaranteed to skyrocket.

My gold set arrived yesterday and I have no doubts the reverse proof will be a chase coin of historic proportions. It's one hot coin that has to been seen to believed Pictures will not do it justice. The mirror highlights are stunning. It will be the must have for anyone who has the funds to collect big gold coins. Hopefully, your dealers got one if you didn't...go see it while you can before it gets slabbed up and sold off.

The fun bunch from shop at home has the set certified already MS/PR69 for $7,999.00 and MS70.PR70 for $10,999.00. If there are any left. I saw them on there last night and they were down to 3-4 sets left...dang thats a lot of money!

    Who Knows??????????????

What's to keep the mint from selling the REVERSE PROOFS as singles!! Seems like they're a bottom line outfit now, whatever will generate more cash flow will get the nod!!! I for one don't TRUST the MINT, ever since the Buffalo Nickel debacle in 2005. They're STILL selling those worthless dogs to the unsuspecting public, I mean 720,000 Mint Wrapped sets-------COME ON!!! If they leave the REV. PR. alone, it will be a fantastic ride for BOTH the AGE and ASE sets----BUT WHO KNOWS???????? Right now the ASE Rev. Pr. will cost you $52.10 in the 3 coin set and the AGE Rev. Pr. is worth------- $1010. in the 3 coin set!! (NO WAY)

Shades of 1995 W ASE (Could Happen!!)

I'll buy all the gold reverse proofs that you want to sell for $1,010.00 each. If anyone wants to sell...I don't mind laughing all the way to the bank ....hahahahahahaha :):high5:
