Hey I'm happy when i can find a decent ike for $2 add in the cost of the holders and he only about $10 off :D.
On the same token my woman wanted to be able to buy me coins so i have placed her in charge of Foreign coins. So far she has actualy done fairly well :D

  3. These two comments are right on. Great sentiment on the part of your husband. Now, let him know what coins you really want and how he can get them for you. BTW: Check that 1971D Ike for the Friendly Eagle variety. :smile TC

hi i'd venture to say you are lucky to have a spouse that encourages your hobby and loves you enough to take a risk to bring you numismatic items.. my wife made me quite collecting after 23 years..lol.. i have been more depressed thsn ever.. because of it.. im q closet collector work a lot of ot so i buy a coin here an there... just to keep my sweet to happy.. and started sorting old cent bags... just to pass the time... kbaby ... teach him about coin collecting get him a basics book so hes not in the dark whne he chooses to ge tyou a gift.. and i think for your husband first strike he did have a good idea buy certified..lol but not the right company.. or place .. and so he paid to much .. we have all over paid once or twice just to get something nice.. for our set..

Hey, nice of him to try. As I tell all of my family...NEVER try to buy coins for me. I've always had this fear of opening a present to find an HSN coin vault box underneath.

At least there is one good coin in the bunch, the 1973 which was a mint set only coin not made for circulation.

Sentimental value can easily outweigh numismatic value.

Also the 1979-S is the type 1 and then there is also the 1980-S.

What do y'all think of me taking them out of these slabs and putting them in air tights (since these aren't professionally graded)?

Hi if you teach your family about collecting or give the knowledge or even a basic book. It will help them...
