If you had to choose one or the other to collect, which would you choose, would you choose the Seated Liberty Half or the Franklin Half?

I'm the first to vote for Franklin ... he's doomed

I like Franklin as a person, but I prefer the seated liberty half. All of those coins with the eagle on the back I find hard to resist.

I have to vote for seated halves, they were my specialty in US collecting, (well as much as my ADD collecting habits allow). :)

I have to admit, I wish I would have bought a BU Franklin set when I had the chance. I love the man, the design is not bad, its just they were all "junk silver" when I was buying my silver, and I never got around to buying a BU set of them.

Franklins are so much easier to come by, so I am going to go with seated liberties. I just adore the design on them.

I like the Liberty Bell reverse on the Franklin cause its different, but overall, the seated is a much better-looking coin so I'll vote for that. Also, we know gbroke will be voting for his buddy Frankie so I'll even it out a bit. ;)

I have a set or two of Franklins, wish I had all the proofs, so I would prefer to have all the proofs and continue with Franklins that way but there are a few seated halves I wouldn't turn down.

Not even a question for me.. Seated all the way! A really nice XF or AU, No Stars or Arrow and Rays is as good as it gets.

Sorry just reread the question there is no "No Stars" Seated HALF. But still going with the Seated.

Design wise, almost every pre-1965 US coin rates higher than mullet man Frankie.

  19. Don't get me wrong, I like ole frankie...but I like a challenge when I collect coins. There is no challenge in Franklins.
